UK-based Euro NCAP applies some crash tests to vehicles to determine how reliable the cars on the market are in an accident. The tests carried out by the institution can sometimes be an advertisement material for automobile companies. Euro NCAP, this time, put the 2019 model of Renault Clio in crash tests. Clio, which successfully passed the tests, was entitled to be one of the vehicles that received 5 stars in Euro NCAP.
To look at the features of the vehicle before the test results, the Clio, which has 6 airbags, has automatically adjusted LED headlights. However, the Clio has rich equipment such as emergency brake, seat belt warning including rear seats, cruise control, lane keeping assist and traffic sign recognition camera.
As for the tests performed; It seems possible to say that Clio, which has been successful in the safety of adult passengers by 96 percent, in the safety of children by 89 percent and in safety aids by 75 percent, has proven itself in safety.
The reason behind this success of the 2019 Renault Clio is, of course, not only the safety equipment. This tool is a ‘common platform product’. “What does it mean?” If you ask, the 2019 model Renault Clio is the product of the alliance established by Mitsubishi, Nissan and Renault. This alliance means having a common modular design so that different models can be developed. Thanks to this alliance, which is one of the future-oriented investments of automobile manufacturers, it is ensured that new technologies are used jointly in vehicles. In fact, they are so ambitious in this regard that the companies are considering the production of 4.6 million vehicles by 2022 within the scope of this alliance and the establishment of fifteen factories.
Euro NCAP tests for 2019 model Clios, which will take their place in the Turkish market in the coming months, were also shared on YouTube. You can watch the crash tests below.
