OnePlus 7 Pro, which was introduced on May 14 and instantly became the agenda, draws attention with its high hardware features as well as its affordable price compared to the flagships of other smartphone manufacturers. For the OnePlus 7 Pro, which does not contain any IP certificate in the technical feature section, the Chinese company emphasizes that the device is waterproof.
YouTuber Zack Nelson, who frequently tampers with smartphones and replaces their backs with a transparent cover, has also completed his work on the OnePlus 7 Pro. Opening the inside of the device, Nelson discovered that the areas of the smartphone’s hardware are protected by special waterproof covers.
While there is no official explanation as to why the smartphone industry giant has not received an IP certificate, OnePlus may not have wanted to spend additional money for the certificate, as it has designed the device to be waterproof. There is no information about whether the users’ devices will be out of warranty if they are waterproof.
