It turns out that glucosamine is also beneficial for the heart

There are many drugs used for the treatment of bone and joint pain, and some of these drugs have glucosamine as an active ingredient. This important supplement also has effects on other parts of the body.

Studies have shown that the substance is also good for heart health. In fact, according to the researchers, the benefits of glucosamine for the heart are higher than the benefits for bones and joints.

The study, published Tuesday, found that adults who took glucosamine had a 15 percent lower risk of developing cardiovascular disease. Data from 466,039 patients in the UK Biobank over a 7-year period were used for the study.

The details of the study showed the effects of glucosamine on heart health in more detail. Accordingly, people who use this substance have a 22% less risk of dying from cardiovascular diseases. They also have an 18% lower risk of developing coronary heart disease. Finally, it was determined that glucosamine users had a 9% lower risk of having a heart attack.

These are the numbers that emerged after the researchers determined demographics and excluded factors such as age, gender, race, smoking and substance use from the study. In some groups, these effects can be much more obvious. For example, smokers are 37% less likely to develop coronary disease.

Glucosamine stands out as a substance with anti-inflammatory properties in general. Naturally, it has benefits for cardiovascular health, but it is not the only anti-inflammatory substance. Another feature that makes glucosamine stand out is that it reduces glucose and increases amino acids in a way that mimics low-carb diets.

The interesting thing is that according to studies examining the effects of glucosamine on bone and joint diseases, some of the patients did not benefit from glucosamine in this regard. So glucosamine may have more positive effects on heart health than bones and joints.
