NVIDIA has officially launched the affordable graphics card model GeForce GTX 1630, which we have been waiting for a while. The successor to the GT 1030 introduced years ago, the GTX 1650 is based on the Pascal architecture that powers the 1000 series. Naturally, it also lacks DLSS and ray tracing support.
For months, a lot of information about the new graphics card has been leaked. The rumors that have been going on for a few months turned out to be true and all the specs match. NVIDIA has also released a new Game Ready driver that offers Windows 11 22H2 support alongside GTX 1630 support.
The weakest member of the GTX 16 series comes with a new GPU derived from the same “TU117” (TSMC 12nm) silicon as the GeForce GTX 1650. The GTX 1630 used exactly half of the 16 units found in the TU117. It will serve with 8 SMs (Streaming Multiprocessors), 512 CUDA cores, 32 TMUs and 32 ROPs.
VRAM capacity remained the same at 4GB (GDDR6). In comparison to the GTX 1650, the memory bus will be limited to 64-bit rather than 128-bit. In other words, the theoretical bandwidth will be limited to 96 GB/s and this will of course affect the performance a lot. Let’s also add that there are typically two 16 Gbit GDDR6 chips running at 12 Gbps on the card.
The Turing GPU has a standard clock speed of 1410 MHz and an increased clock speed of 1740 MHz. On the other hand, it should be noted that it lacks hardware-accelerated AV1 decoding and has the same media features as the rest of the “Turing” family.
The new GTX 1630 will have 43% fewer CUDA cores and will run on a narrow memory bus. On the positive side, as you can see from the table below, the frequency speeds are higher compared to the GTX 1650. In other words, NVIDIA bought it from one place and gave it from another.
The GPU manufacturer did not make a sound announcement for the card that will replace the aging GTX 1050 Ti model. As you know, two inexpensive GPUs were announced on the AMD side, such as Radeon RX 6400 and RX 6500 XT. Intel entered the graphics card market from the lower segment with the Arc A380 model. The green team, on the other hand, chose to face their opponents with the GTX 1630. For now, no information on performance values has been shared. With the upcoming reviews, we’ll take a closer look at how the underpowered model of the GTX 16 series performs.

As for pricing, we currently do not have any official pricing. However, Colorful-branded GTX 1630 graphics cards are said to go on sale in China for around $165. Let us remind you that these prices include the 13% tax applied by the government. We’ll update this article when there are any developments regarding pricing.
NVIDIA says its partners ASUS, Colorful, EVGA, Galaxy, Gigabyte, Inno3D, MSI, Palit, PNY, and Zotac are making many custom-designed graphics cards.
