Switch had already surpassed the total sales of the Wii U and Gamecube. According to the new potential sales figures, the Switch also surpassed the main console N64 in total sales.
According to VGChartz, the Switch sold more than 200,000 units earlier this month. With the impact of these latest sales, Switch increased its total sales to 33.15 million, surpassing N64’s sales of 32.93 million units.
Considering the 32.93 million sales of Nintendo 64 in 6 years, it is quite impressive that the Switch surpassed this sale in just two years. The current goal of Switch is to sell more than the console of the SNES, which sold 49.1 million units.
It’s worth noting that none of these numbers are official yet and are based solely on VGChartz’s estimates. However, according to the latest official figures released by Nintendo at the end of January, the Switch sold only 1 million units less than the N64. Given this information, there’s no doubt that Swtich has passed the N64 in the last few months.
Switch’s shipping costs seem to clear things up when the company releases its financial statement on Thursday, April 25.
