Steve Jobs to be awarded the Medal of Freedom

Apple co-founder and former CEO Steve Jobs was posthumously awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom by US President Joe Biden, according to the White House statement. The Presidential Medal of Freedom is defined as the highest US honor that can be awarded to a civilian and is awarded to individuals who have made exemplary contributions to the welfare, values ​​or security of the United States, world peace, or other important societal activities.

Steve Jobs founded Apple in April 1976 and since then the company has grown into one of the largest companies in the world. The company has helped launch many technology products that have become cultural touchstones, such as the Mac, iPod, and iPhone. Jobs died on October 5, 2011.
